About your adventure

There’s perhaps no feeling quite like reaching Everest Base Camp, standing at the feet of the most majestic and powerful mountains in the world. This is just one of the highlights of this trip; you’ll immerse yourself in the rich Sherpa culture, trek through the quaint Khumbu Valley villages, and enjoy the very best of local food prepared by our lifelong friends. The experiences of a trek to Everest Base Camp won’t just uplift and enlighten you during the trip – they’ll be ingrained in you forever.

  • Day 1-3 Kathmandu – Phakdingma

After touching down at Kathmandu airport, you’ll be greeted by one of our team and taken to your accommodation. You’ll have a full day to explore the busy city of Kathmandu the next day, before an early morning helicopter flight to Lukla on day three. Our first day trekking is slow and steady from Lukla to soak in picturesque landscape and rich culture, before we stop for a nourishing meal and restful night's sleep in Phakdingma.

    Day 4-6 Phakdingma – Namche

Our day starts with a moderate incline up the famous Namche hill, where you’ll admire views of Chomolungma (Mt Everest) for the first time. We spend two nights in Namche, serving a rest and acclimatisation day with a trek to Tenzing Norgay’s statue, with enough time to soak up all that this beautiful village has to offer – local food, shopping, and of course taking in the incomparable sights.

    Day 7-8 Namche – Deboche

This is where we veer off the normal route, and may quite likely be the only trekkers on the trail to Khunde. Today’s lunch stop is a home cooked meal in the home of one of our great Sherpa friends, before we make our way down the valley to the night’s accommodation. Khunde to Deboche involves another short incline and more enchanting views, with an opportunity to explore the Tangboche Monastery at the top of the hill.

    Day 9-11 Deboche – Dingboche

Deboche to Pangboche is a strategic gentle walk that immerses you with local life, and we’ll hopefully see some of Nepal’s native animals such as the Himalayan Thar. From Pangboche, we trek to Dingboche – a quiet village in the mountains which is perfect for a rest day. You’ll be asked to join an acclimatisation day walk to Chakung, where we will stop for lunch before returning to Dingboche for another night.

    Day 12-13 Dingboche – Lobuche

This is one of our favourite days. You’ll start to feel every breath as we gain altitude towards EBC, which can be challenging, but immensely rewarding. A few rest stops at local tea houses break up the day’s trek, before we arrive in Lobuche for the night.

    Day 14-15 Lobuche – Gorakshep

The following day requires an early start, as this day could potentially be our window to make it to EBC. We will trek to Gorakshep, where we stop for lunch and drop off any equipment we don’t need for the trek to EBC. Around 3 hours later you will arrive at one of the most beautiful and iconic destinations in the world – Everest Base Camp. We will return to Gorakshep for the night.

    Day 16-17 Gorakshep – Pheriche

On our last day at altitude, we trek to Kala Pathar – the highest you will go on this trek at an altitude of 5,550m, and potentially the best views you can get of Everest. We then trek to the beautiful village of Pheriche where you will be welcomed with hot tea and amazing local food.

    Day 18-20 Periche – Kathmandu

Our trek back to Lukla spans 3 days and involves stopovers in Pangboche, Namche and Phakdingma. We will have our final night in the mountains in Lukla, before flying back to Kathmandu by helicopter.
